Neptune
Neptune is the eight planet from the sun in our solar system. It is named after the Roman god of the sea and this is because it has a blue colour. The diameter of the planet is 49.528 km and the mass is 1,0243×10^26 kg. There are known 14 moons which orbit around Neptune so far. The construction of the planet looks a lot like Uranus, the core is molten metal and rock and the mantle is build up with rocks, water, ammoniak and methane. The farther you go to the outside the more liquid it gets. Till now only one space mission came close to Neptune: it was the Voyager 2 which took pictures of the planet and send them to Earth. One year on Neptune takes 60190.03 days on Earth which is the same as 164.79 years on Earth. Average temperature on Neptune is -201 degrees celsius. There is also a storm on Neptune which is called the 'Great Red Spot' which was about the size of the Earth and had a speed of 300 metres per second. Till now we don't know very much about Neptune because it is so far away and only one sonde has passed the planet and observated it.
